Five Russian Army Generals have been killed in Ukraine in less than one month. This is more than the deaths of a decade of Afghan invasion (1979-1989). The Kremlin has suffered more casualties than the United States during twenty years in combat in Afghanistan and Iraq.
According to an adviser to the Ministry of the Interior Vadim DesinenkoIn just three weeks, the Soviet Union did not lose as many generals during World War II. In statements to Rada channel Desinenko said that he was not against the aggression continuing.
According to BBC reports, analysts believe that 20 generals are responsible for Russian operations in Ukraine. If all of the deaths are confirmed, this would mean that 25% of Russian generals were killed in action.
